RIAA Platinum LP award for Paula Abdul album Forever Your Girl, which was released on June 21, 1988. The album was certified Platinum on March 9, 1989 by the RIAA.
Abdul's debut, the album was a big hit, scoring Billboard Hot 100 #1s "Straight Up", "The Way That You Love Me", "Opposites Attract" and the title track. By 1990 the album was certified 7x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA.

Detailed Item Description:
This RIAA Platinum award would have been manufactured sometime in 1989 making it approx. 33 years old. It is presented to Bob Cummings. It is not known what role Cummings played in the creation or marketing of this release.
The award is in VG condition, with only a very few mars on the frame and plexiglass. The award has its' California Gold Record Co. manufacturer sticker on the back.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
