RIAA 4x Multi-Platinum Album award for Michael Bolton's Time, Love & Tenderness album. Released on April 21, 1991, the album was certified 4x Multi-Platinum on Dec. 19, 1991 for four million copies sold.
The album reached #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart on the strength of hit singles including a cover of Percy Sledge's "When a Man Loves a Woman", which topped the Hot 100 chart, and top 10 hits "Love Is a Wonderful Thing", and "Time, Love and Tenderness". It also reached #2 on the UK chart along with charting well in numerous other world music markets. By 1994 the album was certified 8x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for eight million copies sold.*

Detailed Item Description: This is a RIAA 4x Multi-Platinum Album award that was manufactured in 1991, making it 34 years old. It is presented to The Hit Factory®, the recording studio in New York City where parts of the album were recorded, along with the studio owner, the late Ed Germano, who owned the studio since 1975.
This award is in VG condition, with minor mars on the frame and plexiglass. It is all original with Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer sticker. The numbered sticker on the back of the award is an inventory number from the recording studio.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
