RIAA Gold Album Award for K-Ci & JoJo album Love AlwaysThe album, the group's debut, came out on June 17, 1997. It was certified Gold by the RIAA on Nov. 11, 1997 for 500,000 copies sold. 

The duo, originally part of Jodeci, had a hit with this debut album. Track highlights included "You Bring Me Up", "Last Night's Letter", the Billboard Hot 100  #1 single "All My Life", and "Don't Rush (Take Love Slowly)". The album reached #6 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. By 1998 the album was certified 3x Multi-Platinum for three million copies sold. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 1998 making it approximately 26 years old. It is presented to a former radio program director. Their name has been obscured only in the photos for privacy. A letter of provenance from the recipient will be provided with purchase. Provenance letter can be seen in images with executive's name obscured for privacy. Item buyer will receive a non-obscured copy of the letter.

The award is all original with unopened backing paper with Dejay Products manufacturer's stickers. It is in VG to Excellent condition with only a very few minor mars on the frame.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
