RIAA Platinum Album Award for James Blunt album Back To Bedlam. Released on Oct. 11, 2004, by Feb. 24, 2004 it was certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million copies sold.

The British solo artist's debut album produced the worldwide hit "You're Beautiful" which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Other tracks released as singles included , "High", "Wisemen", "Goodbye My Lover", and "No Bravery". It also charted all over the world, and became the biggest-selling album of 2005 in the UK, hitting #1 on the album chart there. In the U.S. the album peaked at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. By 2016 the album was certified 3x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for three million copies. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured around 2004 making it approx. nine years old. It is presented to well-known radio personality and executive Scott Shannon from WPLJ, who also worked at Z100 New York and many other stations. A letter of provenance from Shannon will be provided with purchase as seen in images.

The award is in Excellent condition. It is all original with unopened backing paper and Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer's sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
