Goo Goo Dolls RIAA 3x Multi-Platinum album award for Dizzy Up The Girl. The album, which was released on Sept. 22, 1998, was certified 3x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA on Nov. 10, 1999 for three million copies sold.
The group's sixth studio album produced the group's best known hit "Iris" which went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album peaked at #15 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #47 on the UK Album chart. By 2018 the album was certified 4x Multi-Platinum for four million sold. Detailed Item Description: This is a first presentation RIAA 3x Multi-Platinum album award that would have been manufactured in 1999, making this award approx. 25 years old. It is presented to a former radio program director. Their name has been obscured only in the photos for privacy. A letter of provenance from the recipient will be provided with purchase. Provenance letter can be seen in images with executive's name obscured for privacy. Item buyer will receive a non-obscured copy of the letter.
The award is all original with Milestone Awards manufacturer sticker on its back. This award is in VG to Excellent condition, with only a very minor mar or two on the frame and plexiglass.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
