RIAA Gold "white matte" album award for Cream album Goodbye presented to Cream. The album was released on February 5, 1969 and certified Gold by the RIAA on April 21, 1969 for one million dollars worth sold.
The last album from Cream -- Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, and Eric Clapton -- featured the classic hit "Badge", a live version of "I'm So Glad" among its tracks. Featuring three studio recorded and three live tunes, the album went to #1 in the UK, #2 in the U.S., and top ten in Australia, Canada and much of Europe. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold LP award was made in early 1969, making it about 55 years old. The award is presented to Cream.
There is minor fading of the record label but the album miniature, plate and matte are in VG condition. In our view there is a possibility that the frame has been changed based on the condition of it and the backing paper, but all other components appear original. A New York Frame & Picture Co. manufacturer sticker is present on the backing paper.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
