Our February 2026 Artist Of The Month is The Beatles. It was in February 1964 that the Beatles first landed in the U.S. The band arrived at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on February 7, 1964, greeted by thousands of screaming fans and intense media attention. Two days later, on February 9, they made their historic American television debut on The Ed Sullivan Show, performing before an estimated 73 million viewers—the largest TV audience to that date.
They followed this with a live concert at the Washington Coliseum on February 11, their first U.S. concert, and two shows at Carnegie Hall on February 12. The group returned to The Ed Sullivan Show for additional appearances on February 16 (broadcast from Miami Beach) and February 23, cementing their dominance and forever changing the landscape of American popular music.
