Artist Of The Month: 1985 "We Are The World" Singers
This month's Artist Of The Month includes all the singers whore recorded parts for the January 1985 charity single “We Are the World”. The project was organized by USA for Africa to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. The track was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and produced by Quincy Jones and it famously brought dozens of the biggest music stars together in one night after the American Music Awards. It became a cultural milestone, raising millions of dollars and showing how pop music could mobilize global humanitarian aid.
