RIAA Platinum Album award for Van Halen's Live: Right Here Right Now. Released on Feb. 23, 1993, the album was certified 2x Multi-Platinum for two million copies sold on May 4, 1993.
The first live album released by Van Halen, Live: Right Here Right Now reached #5 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and singles "Dreams" and their cover of The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" garnered radio airplay. While it was recorded over two nights at in May 1992 at the Selland Arena in Fresno, CA. Hagar has said that the album was not fully live since Eddie had to re-record guitar tracks due to being out of tune. After that, vocals were also recut but it still captured the band live to some extent and remained the group's only live album until 2015's Tokyo Dome Live In Concert. By Sept. Detailed Item Description: This is an original first presentation RIAA award from 1993, making it 27 years old. It is presented to Van Halen's manager Ed Leffler (1936-1993), who in addition to managing VH until his passing worked with Sweet, Petula Clark, The Carpenters, Juice Newton, a solo Sammy Hagar and even PR early in his career for the Beatles.
The award is in VG condition including an original back with Ill Eagle manufacturer's sticker. There are a few minor mars on the frame and plexiglass but otherwise the award is in great shape.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
