The album was a smash success with tracks including Jimmy Buffett's contribution "Hello Texas", "Lookin' for Love" by Johnny Lee, "Lyin' Eyes" by Eagles, "All Night Long" by Joe Walsh, "Stand by Me" by Mickey Gilley, "Look What You've Done to Me" by Boz Scaggs, "Could I Have This Dance" by Anne Murray, and "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" by the Charlie Daniels Band. The album reached #3 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and #1 on the Country Albums chart. By 2018 it was certified 3x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for three million copies sold. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 1980, making it approximately 43 years old. Undoubtedly one of its' best features, it is presented to Jimmy Buffett himself.
It is all original in Good to VG condition considering its' 43 year-old age with frame wear, some mars and scratches on its' plexiglass, and some matte and record label fading. It's backing paper is original and while the manufacturer sticker is missing, it has adhesive residue in the correct size, shape and location of a New York Frame & Picture Co. sticker. The construction details of the award also confirm it was made that company.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
