Signed by Rolling Stones members Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood, this 1966 Fender MusicMaster II Guitar makes for a fantastic Stones collectible and is a desirable vintage guitar as well. It comes with a full Letter of Authenticity from Roger Epperson (REAL-Roger Epperson Authentication Ltd.) certifying the three autographs, which appear in black felt marker. Richards adds "Love" and all have added '97, dating the signatures to 25 years ago.
This road-weathered Fender looks every bit of its' 55-year age but that is part of the charm of this one-of-a-kind historic collectible. It appears to have retained its' original Olympic White finish, pick up and all hardware, from tuners to bridge, nut and volume/tone knobs.
Here's a bit of information about the Fender Musicmaster II, with this one dated to 1966 by researching its' serial number, which is 146871:
A transitional model made only briefly during the CBS takeover of Fender, it was made in the USA from 1964-69. It had the same design as the original Musicmaster, a three-quarter scale student model introduced in 1956, but instead has a regular 21 fret, 25.5" scale length. It was designed with one single coil pickup at the neck. It has an Alder body, Rosewood fretboard, and Maple neck. Made only in Olympic White, Daphne Blue and Dakota Red. According to collectors, Olympic White is the most desirable color.
This instrument is only in Average Minus condition but for its age and as a display piece it has its' own definitive appeal. The dated-to-1997 autographs are still decently bold and nicely positioned. This piece makes for a fantastic addition to any collection of Rolling Stones memorabilia.
Don't be fooled by other "signed" items on the Internet or in stores. Ask to see a COA/LOA from top authenticators like JSA (James Spence Authentication), PSA/DNA, Beckett (BAS), or REAL (Epperson). You'll find that most sellers won't be able to provide this.
