RIAA Platinum Album Award for Ice Cube's album AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted. The album was released on May 18, 1990 and by Sept. 6, 1991 was certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million sold. 

Named as a parody of and commentary on the television show America's Most Wanted, Ice Cube's debut solo album released after his departure from N.W.A. performed well. Singles included the title track and "Who's the Mack?" The album debuted at #19 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and reached #6 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart. It also charted in the UK and Australia and has been named one of the most influential hip-hop albums of all time by various publications including Rolling Stone, The Source, SpinSee image above for RIAA sales certification of this album*.

Detailed Item Description: This Ice Cube RIAA Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 1991, making it about 31 years old. It is presented to T.A.Z. While not known for certain, this could be the record retailer that went into business starting in the 80s.

This award is in Good to VG condition with some mars on the plexiglass and frame, and minor degradation around the record label. It is an all original award with Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
