Released on April 19, 1989, the single was certified Gold for 500,000 copies sold on July 26, 1989, and their album was certified 2x Multi-Platinum in 1989. (Note: This is not a RIAA award). The single is a cover of the Ian Hunter 1975 original and it peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #6 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Detailed Item Description: This large and impressive Capitol Records award celebrates the success of Great White's 1989 single "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and the album it appeared on. It is presented to well-known radio personality and executive Scott Shannon from Pirate Radio KQLZ Los Angeles, Z100 New York and many other stations. A letter of provenance from Shannon will be provided with purchase as seen in images.
The award was made around 1989-90 making this award approx. 33 years old. It is in Excellent condition and all original with Fitzgerald Hartley manufacturer sticker.
