RIAA Gold LP award for Stephen Stills album Stephen Stills 2. Released on June 30, 1971 and was certified Gold by the RIAA on Aug. 26, 1971 for 500,000 copies sold.
In addition to "Change Partners", which hit #43 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the single "Marianne", which rose to #42. The Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia, along with Graham Nash and David Crosby guest on the album. It went to #8 on the U.S. and #22 in the U.K., along with chart success in numerous other countries. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Gold award is from 1971 making it approx. 51 years old. It is presented to Gold Hill Music, Inc. a music publisher associated with Stills works.
Considering the age of the award it is in VG to Excellent condition. There are minor mars and scratches on the wood frame, as is expected and wire hanger has been replaced. The backing paper is original with New York Frame & Picture Co. manufacturer's sticker.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear.
