RIAA Combo Platinum Single and 2x Multi-Platinum Album Award for Hanson album Middle Of Nowhere and single "MMMBop". The album was released on May 6, 1997 and later that year on July 23 certified 2x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA, while the single was certified Platinum on June 18.

The debut album from the three brothers from Oklahoma contained the hit "MMMBop", which reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and also topped the charts in 11 other countries. Other singles included "Where's the Love", "I Will Come to You", "Weird", and "Thinking of You". The album peaked at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart and sold well in many other world markets. The group earned two Grammy award nominations in 1998 off the album's impact as well. The album would eventually be certified 4x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA in Dec. 1997 for four million sold.*

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA 2x Multi-Platinum/Single combo award would have been manufactured in early 1997, making it 28 years old. It is presented to Chris Lopes, who was most recently Executive Vice President of Promotion at Interscope.

This award is in VG condition with only minor mars on the plexiglass and frame. It is all original with Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
