Just a couple of highlights from this week in music history!

MAY 25: Happy birthday to Klaus Meine, born today in 1948! He is best known as the lead vocalist of the legendary rock band Scorpions. Meine's powerful and distinctive voice has been a defining feature of the band's sound since he joined them in the early 1970s.

Under Meine's vocal leadership, the Scorpions have achieved international fame with hit songs such as "Rock You Like a Hurricane," "Wind of Change," and "Still Loving You." His ability to deliver both hard-rocking anthems and poignant ballads has earned him a significant place in rock history.

In addition to his vocal talents, Meine is also a prolific songwriter, co-writing many of the Scorpions' biggest hits. His lyrics often reflect themes of love, peace, and change, resonating with a wide audience globally. Klaus Meine's contribution to rock music has made him an iconic figure in the genre, and his influence continues to be felt in the music world.

JUNE 3: Happy birthday to Suzi Quatro born today in 1950! The rock singer-songwriter, bassist, and actress gained fame in the 1970s. Quatro began her music career in the 1960s with the all-female garage rock band The Pleasure Seekers, which later evolved into Cradle. She is recognized as one of the first female bass players to become a major rock star.

Played a significant role in breaking gender barriers in rock music, inspiring future generations of female rock musicians such as Joan Jett. She also portrayed the character Leather Tuscadero on the popular TV show "Happy Days" in the late 1970s, further cementing her status as a pop culture icon.

Suzi Quatro is celebrated for her contributions to rock music and her role as a trailblazer for women in the industry.
