JULY 14: On this day in 1973, The Everly Brothers break up! Not only do they break up, but they do it in the middle of a concert at Knott’s Berry Farm in CA.😮
JULY 15: Happy birthday to Linda Ronstadt, born today in 1946!🎂🎤 She began her career in the mid-1960's in the folk scene that was popular at the time. It would be the 1970's where she would find fame and become one of the top grossing concert artists of the decade! Her music has crossed all genres and she has won 10 Grammys, 3 AMAs, 2 ACMs, and countless other awards. Also by selling over 100 million records worldwide, she is one of the best selling artists of all time. In 20014, Ronstadt was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Ronstadt retired in 2011 due to Parkinson's disease.
JULY 16: Today in 1976, Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina end their six year artistic partnership. The two had several hits, including “You’re Mama Don’t Dance”.
JULY 17: Happy 70th birthday to Geezer Butler, born today in 1949!🎂🎸 Probably best known for being Black Sabbath‘s bassist and primary lyricist, Butler has also played with GZR, Ozzy Osbourne, and currently with Deadland Ritual. He is regarded as one of the most influential bass players in heavy metal. 
JULY 18: Happy birthday Martha Reeves, born today in 1941!🎂🎤 The lead singer of Martha Reeves and the Vandellas scored classic hits with “Nowhere To Run”, “Heat Wave”, and “Dancing In The Street “. Early in the 1960’s, Reeves was spotted by a Motown A&R director who invited her to audition. She began her career by doing administrative duties. Soon she was recording hits! Reeves has also acted and performed on Broadway. In 1995, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She continues to perform today!🎶🎤🎶 
JULY 19: Today in 1987, Heart was at #1 with “Alone”. The power ballad was their first single from their ninth studio album, Bad Animals. It stayed at the top for three weeks!🎶💿🎶
JULY 20: Happy birthday to Carlos Santana, born today in 1947!🎂🎸 Santana began playing guitar at age 8. He grew up in a musical family with his mariachi musician father. In 1966, he formed the Santana Blues Band in San Francisco. They played a fusion of blues, jazz, rock, salsa, and African rhythms. They were signed to Columbia in 1969. Santana would go on to sell millions of records worldwide, win 10 Grammys, and win 3 Latin Grammys.
