Just a couple of highlights from this week in music history!
JAN 19: Happy birthday to Dolly Parton, born today in 1946!The multi-talented artist has composed over 3,000 songs and has had 44 country albums in the Top 10, which is a record for any artist. Parton is also an amazing philanthropist who has supported literacy programs and raised money for medical research.
JAN 21: Sadly, Meat Loaf (Michael Aday) passed away last night. The singer and actor was best known for his powerful voice and theatrical performances. HIs Bat Out of Hell album is one of the best-selling albums of all-time, currently sitting at 4th place (tied with two others) and having sold 44 million copies worldwide! Wow. RIP
JAN 27: Today in 1970, John Lennon wrote, recorded, and mixed his song "Instant Karma!" - all in one day! He completed the writing in just one hour. Then called up a few mates to help him record it and the rest is history!
