Just a couple of highlights from this week in music history!
FEB 16: Happy birthday to Andy Taylor, born today in 1961! Taylor began playing guitar as a preteen and soon he was playing in local bands. In 1980, he joined Duran Duran and shot to international fame. After leaving the band in the late 80s, he worked on his solo career and producing/writing/playing guitar for other artists, including Rod Stewart, Belinda Carlisle, Robert Palmer, and more. In 2022, Taylor along with his Duran Duran bandmates were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
FEB 18: Happy birthday to Dennis DeYoung, born today in 1947! DeYoung is best known as the lead vocalist of Styx. He wrote and sang lead on seven of Styx's eight Top 10 hits, including the #1 "Babe", "Don't Let It End", "Lady", among others. Since leaving Styx, DeYoung has acted and continues to perform today.
