Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2021 Nominees

After announcing that the 36th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place this fall in Cleveland, Ohio, the organization today announced their nominees for 2021 Induction who are Mary J. Blige, Kate Bush, Devo, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden, JAY-Z, Chaka Khan, Carole King, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, Todd Rundgren, Tina Turner, and Dionne Warwick. According to the Hall: "To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.   The 35th Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees have been announced. Out of the sixteen nominees nine are first timers. First time nominees Pat Benatar (pictured below with husband and guitarist Neil Geraldo), The Dave Matthews Band, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Motorhead, The Notorious B.I.G., Soundgarden, Thin Lizzy, and T. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inducts 7 New Artists This Month

Every music fan has heard of it. Every year many of us lament artists snubbed, we often celebrate those inducted, but what is the Rock Hall exactly? Is it a building or concept?  It's both really. Launched in 1983 by a group led by late Atlantic Records boss Ahmet Ertegun, the hall started inducting artists in 1986 before it even had a physical home.
