 Handwritten lyrics of the Beatles iconic 1968 track "Hey Jude" handwritten by Paul McCartney sold on April 10, 2020 for an incredible $910,000. Auction house Julien's had expected the item to net a large sum and had estimated the value at $170-190,000 but were no doubt shocked with the end result. Likely the item's owner was more shocked! Coming to theaters this week is a new comedy-drama entitled Yesterday. Music fans and, in particular, Beatles fans will be intrigued by its premise: The main character, struggling musician Jack Malik (played by British actor Himesh Patel) learns that after a mysterious global blackout -- during which he is involved in a bus accident -- he is the only one who remembers the Beatles and their music. The RIAA announced today that the Beatles infamous White Album has been certified 24x Multi-Platinum™ moving it into fourth spot on its all-time sales list past Billy Joel's Greatest Hits Volume I & Volume II, no slouch itself at 23 million copies sold. The White Album is also the top multi-disc set of all time and is actually the Beatles best-selling album by a fairly good measure, with their second highest tally being attained by their The Beatles 1967-70 album holding down 18th spot with 17 million copies sold.
