RIAA Platinum Award for 311's 311 album (commonly referred to as "The Blue Album"), which was released on Jan. 1, 1996. The release was certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million copies sold on Sept. 13, 1996.

The album featured hit singles  "What I Got", "Santeria", and "Wrong Way", all of which charted on the Billboard Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts. After hitting #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, the album went on to score the #12 slot on the Top 200 Albums tally. Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 1996 making it approximately 25 years old. This award is presented to Jonathan Lev, a promotions and marketing executive who worked with rock, pop and alternative artists including 311, Green Day, Nirvana, U2, Pearl Jam, Coldplay, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more.

The award is all original with Ill-Eagle Enterprises manufacturer's sticker on its back. This award is in VG to Excellent condition, with only a very minor mar or two on the frame and plexiglass.

These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description.
